Pirates win, Chiefs register first victory, whilst TS Galaxy remain winless
Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs finally registered a victory in the DStv Diski Challenge, whilst TS Galaxy’s search for a win continues.
On Sunday, Orlando Pirates claimed Soweto Dervy bragging rights after defeating Swallows FC 2-0.
Kgwadi Molepo and Mehluleli Maphumulo scored in each halves to hand the Bucs their second win of the seasonm the victory saw Pirates move to fourth on the log with seven points.
They are at par with Stellenbosch FC and Mamelodi Sundowns.
Amakhosi defeated Marumo Gallants one nil on Saturday. The narrow victory was Chiefs first of the season following a draw and two defeats.
Wandile Duba scored the only goal of the match in the fifth minute. Both teams failed to capitalize from the chances they got in front of goal.
The victory saw Amakhosi rise to 12th on the log, whilst Gallants dropped to 13th.
In another encounter, TS Galaxy’s winless streak stretched to four matches. They lost 3-2 to SuperSport United on Saturday.
The Rockets sit rock bottom in ther DStv Diski Challenge standings with zero points. Galaxy have conceded seven goals and managed to score three so far this season.
