SUPERSPORT TV REACTS TO OWEN’S VISIT

In reply, SuperSport wrote: “A special thank you to the legend, Michael Owen for the wonderful visit! We wish you continued success in everything!”

Owen also interacted with Matsatsantsa Chief Executive Officer Stan Matthews, according to the club’s website.

Hunt tweeted that he felt like he was dreaming when he saw the Liverpool great joining the team.

“Michael Owen himself. Got Michael Owen coming to training today am I dreaming,” he tweeted.

Hunt posted pictures posing with the former Real Madrid forward and other members of staff.

Owen had a stellar career with the Three Lions notching 40 goals in 80 appearances spread from 1998 to 2008.

The 42-year-old is a cult hero at Liverpool where he broke many reads as he bagged 116 goals in just 218 appearances from 1996 to 2004.

The goal-poacher with instinctive finishes then went on to test himself on a grander scale against the Galactico of Real Madrid.

The Englishman returned to England in 2005 for a swansong at Newcastle United until 2009.

He jumped ship to sign for Manchester United from 2009 to 2012 then Stoke City from 2012 to 2013.

Owen has never been into serious coaching but he has now made a name as a top pundit.
