Chiefs, Pirates to be without some players in mid-week league encounters

PSL giants Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates will have to do without some of their players in mid-week DStv Premiership encounters.

Pirates will host Sekhukhune United on Tuesday at Orlando Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7:30pm.

On the other hand, Chiefs will welcome struggling Cape Town Spurs at an empty FNB Stadium on Wednesday due to their supporters’ violence. The match starts at 7:30pm.

The two Soweto giants will be aiming to get back to winning ways after poor form in their recent matches in all competitions.

Bucs are without a victory in their last four matches following two draws and two defeats. On the other end, Amakhosi have suffered three straight defeats.

The two players’ suspension will be a big blow considering that both teams are going through a rough patch, failing to grind positive results.

The midfield engine nicknamed ‘Ox’ received his fourth yellow card against KZN side Golden Arrows last time out in a league encounter.

Lepasa is the Sea Robbers’ top goalscorer so far this campaign. The 26-year-old have been ruthless in front of goal finding the back of the net 10 times in 16 matches in all competitions.

As for Mthethwa, he’s yet to make an impact for the Glamour Boys. He linked with the Naturena-based outfit just after the start of the current season coming from Stellenbosch FC. So far, he has made four appearances in all competitions.
