Positive news for Richards Bay FC ahead of Kaizer Chiefs’ clash

Richards Bay FC coach Vusumuzi Vilakazi has shared positive news for his side ahead of their DStv Premiership tie against Kaizer Chiefs.

The KZN side will welcome Amakhosi on Sunday, 21 April at the King Zwelithini Stadium in what will be their second meeting this season.

The Soweto giants claimed a slender 1-0 victory in the first league outing in December at FNB Stadium.

Chiefs will seek a redemption following a four-match winless run. They suffered three defeats and drew the other one.

Meanwhile, the Natal Rich Boyz secured a rare victory when they defeated Moroka Swallows 1-0 at home to bring back a glimpse of hope as they continue to fight relegation.

Vilakazi they will be aiming nothing less than a win against the mighty Soweto giants. However, he admitted the opponents won’t be easy to conquer.

He revealed that they have no injury concerns in his squad as all players are fit for selection.

“I think we had two weeks where we were trying to make sure that we pay serious attention in a few aspects of our game,” said Vilakazi.

“Obviously, just to find the balance between our defensive structure and also offensive structure. We just need to keep it very solid and make it difficult for them to score.

“But also try to benefit in our offensive play in terms of creating more scoring opportunities and try to convert them into goals.

“But it’s not gonna be an easy one considering the fact that they’re coming from a loss. So, they’ll want to lift their game and try to redeem themselves.

“But it’s gonna be a serious battle for both teams. When you look at our situation right now, we don’t have a space for a draw or playing to lose a game.

“So, if we want to survive, we have to dig deep and try by all means to get the three points against Kaizer Chiefs.

“And the boys are ready, they’re fit. They’re ready for the game, everyone is available. It’s just a matter of selection as to who is gonna be the personnel that will represent the club for us to get the three points that is needed so much.

“But we’re going to fight, dig deep and try to get maximum points.”
