Ghana makes decision on coach after AFCON elimination

The Ghana Football Association [GFA] have made a decision on coach Chris Hughton’s future after the embarrassing AFCON exit.

The four-time Champions finished third in Group B with just two points with two draws and one loss.

Despite having a slim hope of sneaking into the Last 16 as one of the best third-placed teams, their elimination was officially confirmed on Tuesday.

The Black Stars team have received a backlash from fans at home as well as the media. Orlando Pirates goalkeeper Richard Ofori and Le Havre player Dede Ayew were some of the players who received harsh criticism.

According to social media posts, armed cops had to be called to deal with fuming Ghanaian journalists. The reaction was as a result of the 2-2 draw against Mozambique on Monday.

The media reportedly had to wait for over an hour before realising the Ghana team was not going to show up for post-match interviews. The team bus was allegedly parked strategically at the entrance of the dressing room with players ready to take off.
