Sadio Mane continues to shine as the World Cup edges closer

Senegal forward Sadio Mane has scored in three successive UEFA Champions League games for Bayern Munich.

The 30-year-old helped Bayern to defeat Barcelona 3-0 at the Nou Camp on Wednesday night.

The victory saw the Bundesliga champions walk away as Group C winners.

Whereas Barça were sent into the Europa League after failing to secure the Last 16 spot in the Champions League.

Bayern has defeated Xavi’s side nine times out of their last 10 games.

Ever since joining Bayern at the beginning of the season from Liverpool, Mane has scored 10 goals in 19 games across all competitions for his new side.

The Senegalese star player played an important role in helping the country win their first-ever Africa Cup of Nations title held in Cameroon earlier this year, also inspiring them to this year’s FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

In July this year, Mane was named the prestigious African Player of the Year, following in the footsteps of his idol El Hadji Diouf.

He beat his former teammate Mohamed Salah and fellow countryman Edouard Mendy in the above-mentioned category.

This was the goal poacher’s second African Player of the Year award, winning it back in 2019.
