Carling Knockout semi-final draw and Final venue confirmed

The draw for the Carling Knockout semi-final stage was conducted on Monday as well as confirmation of the venue for the final.

TS Galaxy, Stellenbosch FC, AmaZulu FC and Richards Bay are the four teams that secure their spot in the next four teams that round.

HOW  THE FOUR TEAMS ADVANCED FROM THE Quarter-finals  

Galaxy beat Sekhukhune United 4-2 on penalties following a 0-0 draw after extra-time at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on Saturday night.

In Durban, Junior Dion inspired AmaZulu FC to a 3-0 win against Golden Arrows at the Moses Mabhida Stadium. The Ivorian striker scored a hat-trick, his first since his arrival in South Africa in 2021.

Earlier on Saturday, Richards Bay caused probably the upset of the last eight stages, after dumping Orlando Pirates via a penalty shootout. The two teams finished at 0-0 after extra-time.

Stellenbosch were the first team to qualify after a 2-0 win over Polokwane City at Old Peter Mokaba Stadium on Friday evening.

HOW THE OFFICIAL CARLING KNOCKOUT SEMI-FINAL DRAW PANNED OUT

Richards Bay v Stellenbosch FC 

AmaZulu FC v TS Galaxy 

For Stellenbosch and Richards Bay, reaching the final would be a historic accomplishment for both clubs. Stellies recently lost two semi-finals in the MTN8 and Nedbank Cup.

Richards Bay on the other hand would be seeking a first Final since their promotion last season. Both AmaZulu and Galaxy have attested domestic Cup glory before.

FINAL VENUE REVEALED

Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban is the venue for the Carling knockout Final on Saturday, 16 December 2023.

The semi-final matches are scheduled to be played on 2 and also 5 December as per the PSL fixture list. Unlike the draw for the previous rounds of the competition, the draw for the semi-final was not seeded.
