“Stellenbosch Football Club can confirm that the Club has parted ways with Kgaogelo Sekgota with immediate effect,” the club announced in a statement.

“Sekgota joined the club at the start of the current campaign and made 17 appearances across all competitions, helping the team win the 2023 Carling Knockout trophy in the process.

“We would like to thank him for his service over the last six months and wish him well in his future endeavours.”

The 26-year-old winger struggled to cement a regular starting berth at the Winelands after facing tough competition.

Sekgota was competing with Genino Palace, Antonio Van Wyk, Andre De Jong, and Devin Tutus in the attacking midfield position.

Meanwhile, Stellenbosch will resume the second half of the campaign with a clash against AmaZulu FC on Tuesday, 13th of February at Danie Craven Stadium.
