The conversation Ramoreboli had with his players after muti claims

Jwaneng Galaxy forward Daniel Msendami has opened up about how Morena Ramoreboli psyched his team after ‘muti’ accusations in Morocco.

The Jwaneng coach, Morena Ramoreboli, was livid after he was accused of using black magic, also known as ‘muti’.

That was after his men stunned African football giants Wydad AC 1-0 in the CAF Champions League group stages at Stade Marrakech, their backyard.

Touted as underdogs, the Botswana champions pulled a humdinger as they stunned Wydad courtesy of Thabang Sesinyl’s solitary goal.

Shockingly, Ramoreboli’s tactical brilliance was met with muti accusations against his players. The accusations came after his players gathered around the corner flag, with one player kneeling and pouring an unknown liquid from a water bottle onto the ground.

This happened during warm-up. As a result, the SA-born coach left the post-match press conference in a huff, livid after one journalist made the subtle accusation.

“You [journalist] are being unfair. I said they were doing warm-up, they did warm-up before the game. You are undermining me; you are saying we won because of black magic; don’t disrespect us. I’m very sorry, but he can’t be talking like that,” he said.

RAMOREBOLI HAD A LENGTHY TEAM TALK WITH HIS PLAYERS

However, Galaxy forward Daniel Msendami revealed after the presser that the shrewd tactician did not wear a long face in the dressing room.

Msendami told FARPost that: “It did not really affect me. I remained focused because it was tough since the game against Vipers.

“But as the coach, he stood and was there to psych us up. We had a lengthy team talk because he wanted to make sure. He told us to be vigilant because most teams in Africa will stop at nothing to win.

“Personally, I didn’t mind because I knew football is played on the pitch, and what we needed was to get positive results. It’s also good that we managed to get the best possible result away from home on that day.”
